| Overview: | For HP, bringing a new product to market normally takes 6 -8 months of grueling, detailed development and coordination. But in this global environment where product life cycles are getting ever shorter HP needed their new HP rp5000 Point of Sale System defined, sourced, verified and released with finished goods delivered to a third party logistics location in three months. 'We choose ID TECH because they were 'Best of Breed' in their field.' Lonnie Wilson, Commodity Manager IV said. ID TECH prides itself in being very responsive to its customers needs and quickly formed a cross functional project team to ensure no detail was left unattended. The team consisted of members representing Sales, Engineering, Marketing and Operations. 'Conforming to such a comprehensive supply chain management system requires a company-wide team effort,'states Robert Wang, the ID TECH Regional Sales Manager responsible for the HP account. 'We figuratively lived together for three months. We were in constant contact with daily calls and one weekly full, team on team, conference call to review all the different activities of the separate departments,' Ligy Kurian says and continued with, 'No matter how fast we ran, ID TECH kept pace.' By working together, representatives of both companies announced the release of the new HP rp5000 Point of Sale System at the Retail Systems Show in Chicago, IL, May 22, 2006. Company follow through, focus and team work from both companies made this possible. |
